BORDERS - WITH SINCERE SYMPATHY
“Borders – with sincere sympathy” is an Art Project, reflecting on the death of thousands of refugees who have drowned in their attempt of crossing the sea in search for a supposedly “better” life.
With these works, the artist realized his wish to create a Memory, exhibited in the contemporary art installation “Borders – with sincere sympathy” referring to the death of thousands of refugees. The condolence telegrams, readdressed by the artist to these victims of the sea can be signed by everyone as a symbol of their grief over the drowned refugees.
The artist considers her work to be an act of love for all the individuals who have lost their lives on this route.
This project was presented for the first time at the Contemporary Art Exhibition “Different Voices”, which took place from the 10th of June until the 7th of July 2017 at the “Cattedrale ex Macello” in Padua, Italy.
The exhibition was organized by the City of Padua, in particular by the sector of Culture, Tourism and Museum, curated by Barbara Codogno in collaboration with the association MoMart.
"Confini - Con profondo dolore" è un progetto che vuol dare voce a una riflessione che parte dalla morte di centinaia di profughi in mare, diretto verso una presunta vita migliore.
E' nato così il desiderio dell'artista di creare per loro un Ricordo (una Memoria), espresso nell'installazione d'arte contemporanea "Confini - Con profondo dolore" che ricorda appunto la morte dei migliaia di profughi in mare.
I telegrammi di condoglianze che sono indirizzati alle vittime del mare possono essere firmati da tutti come partecipazione al lutto.
Un atto d'amore verso coloro che hanno perso la vita in mare.
Il progetto è stato presentato per la prima volta nella mostra d'arte contemporanea "Different
Voices" che si è svolta dal 10 giugno al 7 luglio 2017 nella Cattedrale ex Macello di Padova.
La mostra organizzata è stata organizzata dal Settore Cultura, Turismo, Musei e Biblioteche del Comune di Padova e curata da Barbara Codogno in collaborazione con Momart.
